Review Guidelines
ModaVerified relies on honest, fair reviews from real community members. These guidelines help ensure the platform remains trustworthy and useful for everyone.
Writing a Review
- Be honest and specific. Describe what happened in the deal — communication, shipping, item condition, accuracy of description.
- Only review real deals. Your review must be based on a transaction you personally participated in.
- Be fair with your rating. Reserve 1-star reviews for genuinely bad experiences, not minor inconveniences.
- Include relevant details. Deal size, type (buy/sell/trade), and date help other members assess the review.
- Keep it professional. No personal attacks, threats, or harassment. Criticize the deal experience, not the person.
What's Not Allowed
- Fake reviews — Reviewing someone you haven't dealt with.
- Coordinated reviews — Asking friends to leave reviews to inflate or deflate ratings.
- Retaliation reviews — Leaving a negative review solely because someone left one for you.
- Duplicate reviews — Posting multiple reviews for the same deal.
- Spam or advertising — Using reviews to promote products or services.
- Personal information — Don't include others' phone numbers, addresses, or private details.
Moderation
- Positive reviews (4-5 stars) are published immediately.
- Negative reviews (1-3 stars) go through a brief moderation review before publishing. This ensures fairness for both parties.
- Sellers can respond publicly to any review on their profile.
- Flagging: If you believe a review violates these guidelines, flag it for admin review.
Verification
Admins may request proof of a transaction (screenshots, receipts, shipping confirmations) to verify a review. Verified reviews receive a "Confirmed Deal" badge, increasing trust for future readers.
Consequences
Violations of these guidelines may result in review removal, account warnings, or account suspension. Repeated or egregious violations will lead to permanent bans.
